About club
MŠK Žilina is a Slovak football club, based in the town of Žilina and is one of the most successful teams in Slovak top division (since 1993).
The club was founded towards the end of 1908. Group of football and tennis pioneers residing in the town along with local merchants, workers from drapery factories and students played important roles in the foundation of the club. After lengthy preparations, the club was officially registered on June 20, 1909. In 1928 the club won its first Slovakian championship.
