Happy to be in Žilina

The latest talent to arrive from MŠK Žilina Africa is 18-year-old defender Yusif Haruna. The young Ghanaian will be looking to follow the path of several former African players who developed their potential in Žilina before progressing further in their careers.

“Žilina is becoming increasingly well known in Ghana, especially among young footballers. Many players know MŠK Žilina because several Ghanaians have played here in the past.”

Did you have anyone you looked up to before coming to Žilina?

“I really looked up to Sammy Gidi. He played here before moving on to MLS. He’s a big inspiration for me and proof of what hard work can achieve.”

How have you felt since arriving in Žilina?

“I feel really good here. I’m very grateful for this opportunity. The club believes in me and has given me a chance to show my qualities. That makes me very happy.”

What does MŠK Žilina mean to you today?

“I love it here. Honestly, MŠK Žilina is my dream club right now. I’m proud to be part of this organisation.”

What are your goals for the future?

“I want to achieve a lot with the club. I know Žilina is the right place to help me grow and move closer to my dreams. I want to win trophies, experience great moments with the team and achieve as much as possible. Most of all, I’m simply happy to be here.”

The young defender is currently preparing with the U19 team and could make his first appearance in yellow and green as early as this weekend.
